Villa Balsamo

Italian Style Villa in Sorrento

Towards the north, from the large garden with its swimming pool, or from the first floor terrace, you can admire Vesuvius and the Gulf of Naples. Amazingly it almost seems like you could leap right into the sea, thanks to the exclusive, unobstructed panorama that unfolds. On the other side of the garden, just outside the main kitchen decorated with Cotto Veneto tiles, you will find huge, sturdy chestnut table under a veranda that is able to accommodate twelve or more people.

The garden, with flowers and Mediterranean plants, is lovingly cared for, and is completed by a solarium area, where you will find 10 beach loungers and the pool. There are plenty of spaces to relax, dotted about, along the perimeter of the walkway or under the pergola’s situated within the property. Lastly, there is a private forest attached to the villa that is over 1000 sqm. It is possible to take advantage of the outdoor kitchen next to this space, complete with barbecue and kitchen sink.

The villa is built about 300 metres above sea level, and the semi-mountainous location guarantees a refreshing and pleasant breeze, even in the sweltering August heat, making it the perfect place to spend time lying on the comfortable armchairs and the sofas underneath the large portico, overlooking the sea.
Throughout the villa you can admire a rich collection of works of art, from paintings to sculptures.

The Villa

The villa is the fruit of 40 years of love and passion from Sorrentino artist Renato Balsamo. Originally a simple, austere farmhouse immersed in the green of the lush, native plant life, the property has been developed and enhanced over time into today’s Villa Balsamo. Its past still lingers through its scent and its respect for local tradition, which can been seen in the simple lines of the pathways and the part of the building that is made from tuff rock. At the same time, it is equipped with all the necessary comforts to guarantee a pleasant and revitalising stay. It wisely and harmoniously combines traditional and modern furnishings, the frescoes depicted on some of the walls, by the artist, Balsamo, transmit a sense of boundlessness that sometimes takes the mind into a fantastical dimension
